That's great news Chris. I was going to contact you about making a neckseal out of my left over material.

Will 1/2 a yard be enough? It's estimated that 2 yards is enough to make a vest with 1/2 left for a neckseal. I was just looking to confirm.

1/2 a yard should be more than enough for a neckseal. If anyone is wanting to have their excess material sent to TK409 for neckseals, keep in mind that I have to pay to ship it to him in addition to shipping the rest to batninja. Basically I am saying I can't ship it to both for the same cost as one person. My recommendation is that I send all the fabric to batninja (if that is who you requested that it goes to) and allow him to ship the rest to TK409. That way you can pay him the additional amount for S&H.

Evan4218, no problem shipping your 1/2 yard to Chris for you.

Holy cow!!! 90 yards have been ordered. That is going to be one (or two) heavy bolt(s) of fabric. I will post an update when it arrives and when orders have been shipped.

I just received my Batninja vest through Ripcode. I can't tell you the unbelievable craftsmanship and great look/feel of this vest. It looks so good, it makes the rest of my suit look bad. I can't hardly bring myself to weather it because it is sooooo perfect! I urge everyone to get a Batninja vest with this material, it is so movie accurate!

I pretty much have it all divided up with what is going where, but my 'real' job hasn't gotten me home early enough this week to get to the post office before it closes. At the latest, I will ship the rest out on Saturday. Watch for your shipping status to change in my first post of this thread, followed by an email with the tracking number. Priority Mail normally takes three days, so hopefully everyone will have theirs by Wednesday.

It looks as though all the orders I sent have been received, including all the material shipped to batninja. I look forward to seeing a lot of kick *** vests at cons this summer.

I'm fairly new here and also inexperienced in building/creating movie quality armor etc-which is the look I'm after btw...I'm not going to be doing a Boba or Jango, I'll be doing a custom Mandalorian and will be mixing and matching armor all over the place. My question is, where would I find black heavy duty fabric that would be suitable for making a vest to hold the extra weight of fiberglass chest/back armor down to the lower back...I also wanted to try something I saw a photo of. The vest had two "shoulder pads" which the shoulder armor snaps onto. It gave the armor a more broad shouldered, more intimidating position and I'd like to try that with my vest also. Any thoughts?

The "run" for the material is done and gone.

Your best bet would be to put out a Wanted to Buy ad in the Cargo Hold. Maybe someone will have extra material to spare.

Does this material go by a name ? It looks like a good matchup, and knowing what it is called would make it easier to find

It's called tackletwill, used for lettering on sports jerseys. There have several attempts to find retail outlets for the material, with no luck. If you do find one, please share the information! Good luck!

Well, the problem is that you're a major sports-jersey manufacturer (think Adidas, Nike, Russell), you're not going to find a source willing to sell just a few yards. The minimum order for the bulk sale was FIFTY yards (@ $16 a yard).

So unless you're willing to throw down a few hundred bucks, you're not going to find this stuff on the open market. Like I mentioned, a few of us have already tried the method you're attempting, with no success.

I dont have a problem ordering fifty yards, thats quite close to what I wanted anyway

(just a question)

If someone starts a new list for vest material I would be intersted in getting enough for a vest.

I did'ent mean that in a "bad" way. I just meant that I'm sure you could definatly get some people together for a run, but there going to want to make sure they get there stuff. I did not mean to offend you if I did.

No offense taken it pays to be careful these days. As for doing a run, Looks like a lot of work is involved and I'm not the world's most organised person

Recieved my vest and extra material from Batninja today. All I can say is WOW the fabric is about as close as your gonna get, I love the color, it's deffinatly alot more grey then what shows up in pic's, This vest is gonna rock once It's all weathered and armor attached.
