Best Liquid Masking?

Slave I

Active Hunter
Just like the title says. Anyone have any recommendations on what to use and where to get it?

Much of the armor, small scratches and whatnot, can be done topically, and even the larger areas of metal can be masked off in a traditional manner. But I'm going to be painting up my ROTJ jetpack soon, which I think everyone can agree is a much more intricate paintjob.

I use Windsor & Newton on the packs I paint

I use Hobbico Master Mask Liquid Mask Film, it's nice and thick. It's easy to use, can be thinned down with water, plays nice with acrylics.

Humbrol Maskol is my favorite. I tried the Windsor one, but it´s really thin and runs when working with it. The Maskol is a lot thicker and easier to shape in my opinion.

I like Humbrol Maskol too. Same reason as cr4nnky.....it's thicker and so easier for me. It's a little more expensive than Newton & Windsor per ounce, but either seems to be fine.

I like Humbrol, but I have a problem with it. It dries so quickly, and sometimes if you touch it with the brush when dried, the whole thing just sticks to the brush and peels off. It's a pain when doing bigger spots with much detail! Any solution to this?

i have a bottle of windsor & newton sitting right next to my at my computer right now. it's good stuff. but i do also stand by toothpaste as well, because of the consistency, it stays where you put it, and if you get a little too much on you can just lick your thumb and take it off without it peeling the rest of the area with it.
