Bend of Shoulder Bells?

OK, I have built all the armor over the last 20 years at least twice. My current shoulder bells were made of flat PVC cut to shape using WOF's patterns, heated and wrapped over a round drink pitcher to make the arc. As most of you know, camera lenses can distort things. I suspect the shoulder bells DO NOT have a simple rounded arc - if viewed from the top or bottom edge. I think they are a little in the middle and more on the sides. Makes sense?

Can some one give me some insight on this? And are WOF's shoulder bells templates accurate? I have found that some of his others are not. If some one has an image that might help that would be great. Thanks.
