I hope to be able to complete 3-5 vests a week. Believe me, I want my dining room table back, so I'm going to work as hard as I can to have this project wrapped up in about 6 weeks.

Yeah, guys, sorry for the lack of updates. I've got the first one almost finished (just needs Velcro), and the material is already cut for the first five, so it won't be long now!

I've recently had house company and alot of stuff going on with the family back home. I'm going to try to ramp up production so that I get all these out within the originally-stated six-week timeframe. I have three ready to ship right now, with four more right behind.

it's a bit snug - I underestimated my size - but the velcro makes it easier to re-adjust the fit.

I know I haven't been getting these out as fast as I originally intended, so I wanted to give a general update. I hope to have the next four (10-13) done and out by Saturday, and the remaining should ship before the end of next week.

That's the plan, anyway. I want my dining room table back!

The material bulk order mentioned here and in BobaFettish's thread is finished. There is no standing order or waiting list, and there will probably be no more orders placed for material until next year, if at all.

I'm not sure how much material I will have at the end of the current vest run. If I have any left, I may post single vest orders in the Cargo Hold from time to time in the coming months. I do not plan to keep a waiting list, as my Private Message Inbox is confusing enough as it is, and there's always a chance someone will get their feelings hurt if I miss them.

Keep your eyes open in the Cargo Hold for me!

i did use velcro. i'm still not 100% sold on it as the best way to go, but i know i don't like snaps, and i'm skeptical of magnets, so this will do for now.

i haven't had any issues with velcro not holding, but i don't like the thought that someone could tear off part of the armor with relative ease.

i'm thinking about the screw/nut method, but this could easily derail the vest thread, so i'll stop there

Here are some pics of Eric's vest with my new armor taped on for reference. The chest armor looks right on, but I'll need to remake the collar a little longer toward the sholder and the inside curve not so deep. I love the vest Eric! Thanks for doing this run. I'll try and take some pics of me in the vest with everything on later this weekend.

The vest looks awesome, to bad I missed out on the run. Oh well next time.

That armor has been my side project for the last few months. Those pieces (chest, cod, and knees) are fiberglass casts from the originals I sculpted in clay and then molded. They've been cleaned up and are almost ready for remolding. The gauntlets are mine as well. PM if interested and keep an eye out for my own thread soon. Now back to the vesty goodness!

Just wanted to say that I got my vest today!! I've had a LOOOOT of upgrades over the years to which would always make my costume that little more closer to perfect....my vest was the absolute only thing left and thanks to Boba Fettish and batninja I have now attained total ESB perfection ....in my humble opinion

The vest is nothing short of absolute quality of the highest caliber. It WILL be a centerpoint to how accurate and quality built my costume has become (ok tooting own horn now )

I just wanted to publicly thank batninja and Boba Fettish for their parts in me finally getting the most accurate vest to be had in fandom

As for the rest, I'm taking a week off from my day job to visit my folks. But I'm bringing my sewing stuff with me, as I hope to complete the rest of the paid orders while I'm gone (not much to do in Beaumont anyway). I'll still have access to the Internet, so I'll be making updates as they ship. Sorry for the delay!

I wanted to let you know the vest looks great! Really well done. :thumbup
I helped Gonzo Fett place the snaps onto your vest for her armor. From one seamstress to a... well a tailor? Couldn't risk saying seamstress. You and I are on the same train of thought as far as design. I even set my stitches on the sleeve cap up to yours and they are dead even!!! How funny!! The stitching on the lining to the batting is great to keep from shifting!! What more can I say don't change a thing, the length on the vest perfect.
Ok so maybe one thing...the lining fabric(twill?)was making it a bit thick to put on the snaps. My only criticism. So others who do snaps may find the same problem. Maybe try a suit lining, just and idea it will lessen the bulk to sew as well.

Yeah, I tried different fabrics for the lining. I tried to stick with a bottomweight, getting it on sale where I could. My thinking was if the liner was too thin, it might rip. So I tried to make sure it was a sturdy material.

Suit linings don't go on sale too often, and they can be pretty expensive, racking up the price of the vest. It was a trade-off, to be sure. Good point, though!

Stick with the thicker lining for me! The vest feels more durable and with the armor on it, won't flex as much!

Oh and you are getting so close to me on the list... it's making me crazy!

OK! Finally got my Batninja vest, MLC armor and Mrs. TK409 neck seal all together for a photo. Thanks again Batninja I REALLY lve this vest!:thumbup The fact that it looks "shinny" is only because I had to use a flash on the camera. It normally is more tone down especally after I misted it with grey and black primer.

YYEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYY!!!! I almost missed this thread. I see in the list that my vest was shipped. Man, that was FAST!!!

I just hope to receive it in time before I go back to the states, though. (I received orders to start clearing Italy in about two weeks to go back to the US).
