It looks amazing! I think most of the back plates are dentless, except one, which is a ROTJ stunt (? - the one I posted below). I say go dentless, if someone wants to add it later, it can be done easily. There is one detail that I saw many of the armor makers miss it, and is located at the base of the harness opening:

Keep up the excellent work!

Thanks Rafal ,amazing is quite a compliment. I'm doing an ESB, so maybe i'll leave the dent.
Thanks for the input too.I changed some of the curve lines on this piece too, because i did'nt think the lines
provided on the WOF templates would work for me, so made an attempt to make it look more like FP version 3
and i'm much happier with the result.

Thanks RKD it's not made from sintra, it's made from PVC pipe. I first cut sections big enough, then heat it in the oven, flatten it out and lay down the templates, cut out ,and shape it as desired by using a heat gun. I've done this with all of my armor so far.

It was a big pipe , big enough to do it in one piece , i think its diameter was 8 inches length of the piece was around 60cm
not sure what purpose this type of pipe is used for, maybe sewage.....it was a new pipe LOL!!!!

It looks awesome! But I see you didn't added the groove located under the strap (the image from post #2), which looks like an inverted 'strap slit'.

Thanks rafal , that's right, i did'nt add this detail cause i found it too difficult to do with the pvc, as it is a thick material
and quite tricky to work with, maybe i'll do it on a version 2 down the line. Overall i'm happy with my work so far considering
i have no formal training in art, sculpting etc, etc... As ever thanks for the positive input(y)

Oh, so you're going to use this piece to wear? I thought you were going to vacuuform it or something and make copies for the community.

I think it's a great sculpt though, it has some fantastic form to it.

Thanks GCNgamer , it took a lot of effort to get it to this shape, the build hopefully will be good enough to wear but it will be a display piece mostly.
No reproductions at this point in time. Thanks for looking (y)

Hey, cheers for the link - where did you acquire the pipe from and what thickness was it? another spot on suggestion for making it the armor for a novice :D

The pipe i guess can be baught at most DIY or pluming stores, there are various types, water pipe, sewage, electrical pipe for running cables underground basically any heavy duty pvc pipe will do. it's thickness is 4mm.

It looks really good, but I think the material is a bit too thick, especially on the side flat part (the one with the grooves). You might replace that part (the second layer) with a thinner sheet. As an example, here is an image from the Gallery for refference:

wondering if you have a work in progress thread or pics for your backplate. I need to make one and am not sure how to approach it.
