Attaching armor (?)

New Hunter
Could anyone please give me some assistance as to how all of this lovely armor stays on? Pics would be preferred, but I'll accept any help I could get (previous posts, hints, tips, tricks). My son has been prodding me for full-blown Fett for Halloween (and beyond). I've been researching the heck out of this gold-mine (TDH), but what I'm seeking seems to be eluding me. Please,... a point in the right direction would mean alot.
Thanks.

It's a slow day, and you'll probably find my post somewhere in the SEARCH on how I did mine but here you go anyways. :)

I used a combination of snaps and velcro for my attachments.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Stay safe,

Tim.

I just use the Force;)

Well, duh. But not all of us are gifted, you know. Haha

For those of us that suck at sewing by hand and don't have a sewing machine, how would we attached the snap buttons instead? Do those require any sewing through the back of the vest, or can you fix them on using hot glue?

For the snaps there is a dohicky like a pair of pliers almost that you should be able to get right next to the snaps in any store. No sweing needed.

Oh ok, so how do the plier doohickeys work? Does it involve putting a little hole through the vest where you are fixing it?

Looking at the button on a pair of jeans I'm guessing you just line up the front and back over top each other on both sides of the material you are fixing it to, then you use the pliers to pinch them together, and it pokes just little tiny holes through with tiny teeth and they fix in place?? That's what I'm getting out of it. Then you'd just hot glue the top half of the button to the back of the armor plate, and viola! there you go just snap together?

Your insight is very valuable, keep it coming please!

Thanks

You got it, it punches the holes for you. Id use something other the hot glue to stick it to the armor. Goop or something like that. Do you have fiberglass armor?

Is Goop a brand of adhesive? I haven't heard of it.

I actually don't have ANY armor yet, but I plan on saving up for some BobaMaker armor, so yes, it'll end up being fiberglass. Won't be for a while tho...

If your in the states you can get it just about any store.

Ok, cool, guess I can just go to the nearest craft store and find some.

And tell me more about these earth magnets. Where do you get them and how much are they? Guessing you goop the magnets to your vest, and underside of the armor, then the magnets will just hold firmly?

Keep it coming guys, this is invaluable info!

This thread ought to be stickied, eh?

I think there is already a sticky. But today is my day off from the fire department so I dont mind going over it again.

Magnets, you glue one to the armor and sew the other into the vest. You can run a search on google and find them there. Every now and again they are on here in the cargo hold.

The only sticky I saw under Armor pertained to templates for making the armor pieces and stencils for painting. I couldn't find anything regarding attaching it all to the vest. So idk.

If magnets involve sewing then I'll prolly stay away from that. If I have the right idea of how the snap-buttons work, then incorporating them into my costume won't really be hard at all.

Thanks again for all the great help!
