    Oct 19, 2015, 8:18 AM - Another pepakura build. Lol #1

OK. So I'll give you an overview on what I'm doing. I'm building a full size fett bucket for myself and a scaled down version for my son.
I've done the basic card build using the spc pepakura files. I've still got to finish the keyslots and I'll put the dent in later.
I'll build the simple smaller from a modified version of the same pep files.

So is there any changes I need to make to the spc bucket to make it more movie accurate? As changes will be easy to make now and a bastard to make later on in the build. Click image for larger version.

Very nice start! I would check Rafal Works Helmet (RWH) v2 Helmet Templates and Build for measurements, they're the most accurate I know of.

This is where I'm at now. Not going to be putting the keyslots in the kids one. I've just started resining the adult one. I allways use different colours for each layer so I can see where I've been.

PEP builds are so cool. The ability to fold, tape, glue, and resin... over and over for hours eludes me. I have mad respect for people with that kind of patience.

Fibreglass finished on the adult one(maybe).

Have done the rough sanding on the adult one ready for the bodyfiller. Then the many many many many stages of sanding to come.

Been a while. But I've finally got round to giving the helmets their first coat of filler (bondo to everyone not living in England lol). I'm going to put the dent in the larger helmet after the filler layers. Not going to put a dent in the smaller one but this does look more accurate than the larger one.

Got a nice piece of aluminium I'm going to make the rangefinder stalks out of. Just need to find a good template.

OK. It's been a while since I last posted on this project. Here's where I am now.

I've pretty much finished my sons one. And he's happy so I'm happy lol.
It's not perfect by any means but he was getting impatient. Lol.
This is the newest pic I have of it. This was during the painting.

And on the adult one I have finished the body filer stage. So it's been sanded primed and had 2 coats of silver. I know the finish looks a bit battered and rough but that's the look I was going for.

So. I've started back on this build and am starting to paint it. But I have a question concerning "weathering" . I've noticed that although I've started to do all the layers it still looks too 'clean'. So what's the best way of adding a layer of grime over the top of the paint before I seal it (I'm using acrylic).
