ANH Fett.

Kyle Katarn

Jr Hunter
As far as Boba goes, he has quite a few different suits of armor: The Holiday Special, Empire Strikes Back, Special Edition, and Return Of The Jedi, but in the extra scene added into A New Hope, is he wearing the same as ROTJ armor? and does anybody know if he was originally cast in that scene before the decided to cut it out or was he added in like Jabba?

Well, technically Jabba was originally cast in that scene, but was played by a human actor at that point. They cut the scene for the original release and then added the CGI Jabba for the SE.

I think that the Boba seen in ANH SE has RotJ armor on exclusively, but I could be wrong. Check the Wiki...it may have something.

ahh, okay. i wasn't sure if it was the ROTJ armor because i noticed the lack of shoulder emblem. was he originally in that shot or did they cg him in like they did with jabba?

no...just threw him in. Basically the ANH fett is just ROTJ but they switched the image around so the wrong should armor is facing out. Much like the one scene where the RF and stalk are on the wrong side of the helmet in the SE ROTJ.

lol. i did like the whole thing where he looks at the camera. so when they talk about the SE Fett (ESB bucket/ROTJ everything else) all there talking about is the remastered ANH appearance and the remastered ROTJ scenes that he was added into?

that scene is so chopped up it's not even funny

adding characters, covering up fat hairy guys with crummy cgi slugs.

i'd be happier without it

The composite of Fett in that shot is not reversed, as in the negative being reversed as they did in that one ROTJ shot. No, they actually put the shoulder bells on the wrong shoulders on the costume. The RF stalk makes it clear it is not a reversed image. Also, I wouldn't say they 'CG'ed Fett in.. they 'comped' him in. Its a real actor on green screen stage, not a CG character like Jabba. Boba Fett didn't exist in Lucas' mind until after the original Star Wars came out, though it is true that some initial concepts of Vader were of a mercenary type character, which later was resurrected for Fett. Fett does not appear in the original screenplay for Star Wars. He is an afterthought, put in for the 'fanboys.'

And I agree, the best decision about this scene was made in 1977... it was left out. It adds absolutely nothing and just messes everything up now that these characters are better established in other chapters of the story. That scene makes Jabba look like a joke. It completely diminishes Han's encounter with Greedo, and makes Jabba and Fett a whole lot less fearsome since Han basically just blows them off with a sly grin and a pat on the back. Its just silly. It was the first hint to me when SE came out that Lucas was losing it. (well, actually the first hint was the ewoks).

ewoks... i got my neighbor back inot Star Wars and we when watched ROTJ he wanted to go on a killing spree of midgets in teddy bear suits, AKA. ewoks. we get our fill whilst playing battle front II and killing the ewoks on Endor. and i never even realized that Han totally outdid Fett. i could care less about Jabba because all he cares about is money and his twi'leks and rancor.

Yep, since the Ewoks. I was 13 when ROTJ came out. I saw it once that summer, I hooked up with Dawn Schmidt at the beach and forgot all about this SW stuff until 1995. I was jaded after that, and was completly dissappointed with TPM. Couldn't belive the integirty of the franchise was continually being dilluted

Yup, those chicks really mess with the important stuff, don't they. You always come around though.

So true...really makes Fett look bad...Lucas should've just left it alone.
