Almost no budget ESB Build (pic heavy)

New Hunter
Just wanted to throw out some pictures of my Fett build I'm working on. I'm working with basically no budget. So a lot of the parts are going to be as close as I can get from sourcing the parts from second hand stores, yard sales, and cannibalizing things from my house. (don't tell my wife) I'm hoping to have this finished for the Anime Boston convention this year. I'm really just putting together all the parts that I like, IE ROTJ jetpack, ESB bucket, ESB cape....I know this will drive some of the perfectionists around here nuts!

My foam board/plastic parts found at the dollar store jetpack

More foam board and some plastic advertising signs from my work.
not bad for around 10 bucks.

4 Dollar fake leather 1 dollar rope, 1 dollar "princess" hair extension lol

357 magnum toy gun, more signs from work, an old aluminum sign found in the swap shop at the dump, and electrical conduit.

and the only piece that costs more than 15 dollars so far. My asok cold cast bucket.

Hope you guys enjoy my effort. It really has been a lot of fun. I feel like its part of the spirit of Star Wars, found parts are a huge part of these costumes.

Looks cool. I want to start my own but don't know where to start. Actually, its for my brother. I want to surprise him with it next year. Should I build my own or try to get a completed one? Can you even get a complete one that doesn't look bad?

Thanks for the compliments guys! Paintballguy: it's definitely a lot cheaper to try and make pieces yourself. I've only seen a few completed costumes and they usually go for several thousand. It takes a long time to find parts, so the earlier you can start the better. This site is a gold mine for resources and helpful advice, so your starting at the right place!

great stuff. i don't understand how some of you guys can make such amazing looking stuff from scrap. I would love to see some tutorials or progress pics if you got them.

Well, that is very amazing...It looks great to me!. I am doing it the "expensive way", I mean, buying finished props and parts, and I just hope it looks very very much better or I am going to be very very upset and jealous! ;-)

Wow, really tempted to pick up one of Asok's buckets after that pic. Trying to take this slow. It's hard to look at builds like this and not dump a boatload of money at mine to "catch up." Like I'm in a race with every other Fett or something. Inspiring budget and results. Thanks for the pics.
