New Hunter
Just wanted to share some picture's my friend took of me last night. Still have some painting do and a few things to add but otherwise I'm about done. I have to say that I am extremely pleased with how this has turned out and am so extremely grateful to all of the vendors that I purchased from and everyone else who shared their knowledge so graciously. It would not have turned out nearly as nice without all of you. Anyways here's some pics and a rundown of the parts.

EE-3 is a quick and dirty hasbro mod based solely on desperation to be ready for Denver Comic Con, will be getting a Stormrider Kit when he starts that up along with a sidearm which I won't have time to scratch build.
I think that's everything for now, lemme know what you think!

Looks pretty good bro!

Only things i see:
Weather the vest some more its still too white looking
Weather the left shoulder a little more it looks very bright (that may be the picture though)
the bottom of the jumpsuit legs should go over the boots a couple of inches.

Otherwise...looks excellent bro...nice work!

First I wanna say the painting looks great, well done. The next thing i have to say is the visor opening gets to wide at the bottom...which really bothers me. Probably the most bothersome out of everything thats out of place that DV stated. I wont go over those again. Once you get a solid EE3 your suits gonna look even better scale wise you know this already though. The Armor/vest is to big for your frame. It looks great(not bashing you) but it looks like your swimming in it. The fit of the flight suit looks GREAT....at the ankles though you want the suit to go over the boot not bloused like a military pant leg. Lower the girth belt about 1.5" or so to get the belt and ammo belt to sit lower....it may help with the over sized body armor...The small tweaks will make it sing...If you were a little bigger this would all happen naturally. But again GREAT JOB! If you threw it on a manniquinne it would look perfect....

The left shoulder needs some great misting done...I think thats what Lou meant by weathering BTW

Looking good! How tall are you? I'm thinking about going the same direction with using the RKD armor set. I agree that some of the cloth areas, particularly the flak jacket, could use some more dirtying up.

Thank's for the advice guys! Yeah I've been meaning to dirty up the flak jacket, right now it has no weathering at all, just havent been exactly sure how much to do and the best method. I know what you mean about the armor being too big, knew it would be on the larger side since I'm 5'9" and RKD is made for 6' plus. Will likely upgrade to FP or BM at some point but for now it'll have to do. Will also upgrade the helmet at some point as well. As far as the ankle ties, I made them too small so they wouldn't fit over the boots.

Wow dude, great costume. Your paint work is awesome. You may have already thought of this, but cut some foam blocks and stick them in your pockets to get that squared off look. Also, raising your chest armor a little and lowering your cod/girth might help. Things looks a little bunched up in the belt area. Other than that...looking killer. I really like the color of your flightsuit too. (y)

My first con is now under my ammo belt with a really great time at Denver Comic Con today. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting the man who made my armor, RKD! Was able to be suited up for about 2.5 hours before I overheated and had to take it off and only had a few minor breaks. Knocked a toe spike off on a curb walking in, doh!, and then my left knee fell off as we were leaving and my right gauntlet tube wouldn't stay attached. Other than that it was a fantastic time!. Here's a few pics.

Hi

I have the same armor as you (RKD) although mine is still in transit. I'm the same height, but I think the pics look great. If I look half as good as that, then I will be happy.

What colour dye did you use? I used china blue. The weathering is great too.

lovelyjob!

Thank's man! I used a bottle of RIT Evening Blue and a box of RIT Pearl Grey in about a half filled bathtub and weathered with grey enamel paint and an airbrush, I think it need a little more though. Good luck with your build!

Thank's Hand-Schaub I really appreciate it! Well I made the move from Colorado to Portland, Oregon this week and my suit made the trip with me just fine! So now to finish up my new holster and get my hands on some blaster's and I'm set for a 501st submission. On a side note, anyone have any advice on finding a good mannequin? or building a good mannequin?

Riley, I'd say go the duct tape path. Then just put some support dowels in it and fill it with expanding foam :)

Also, the blasters aren't required for 501st approval if you want to go ahead and apply while you're waiting on orders :)

Thank's guys! Duct tape as in a body mold type thing Wes? I hand't thought about that although I want one that is a bit bigger than I am. I know about the blasters being optional but I want to wait until I'm 100% done, Fett just looks naked without at least an EE-3.

Yep! If you want it a bit bigger you could add some size. All you would need to do is leave it a little bigger when you tape up the places you cut it off your body. Check out Matt's display! That's the method he went with.

Good looking Fett! Hey Wes, the blasters aren't required for 501st approval, but isn't the Nemrod holster?

Correct! The holster is required but blasters are always optional. I'm not going to begin trooping until I have an EE3 and sidearm, but, because the approval process can take some time, I'll get the ball rolling on that.
