Almost complete MOW ESB Jetpack

Hi guys this is my almost complete ESB Jetpack.

I never got a chance to take progress pics because I worked on it piecemeal. I used rere earth magnets to assemble the rocket. I also used rare earth magnet disc to secure the base of the rocket to the rest of the jetpack. Thanks to the SaxeCoburg for that idea!

I added the "holes" underneath the cone of the rocket as well. Thanks to Fett4real for showing me that detail... gonna add the white "dot" too!

I'll be getting a stabilizer from Mojo soon but I'll use the resin beacon supplied by MOW until I can find a hollow metal one (with an LED)

I made a placeholder for the dental file using the tip of a Hasbro clonetrooper blaster. (I think you mentioned this Fett4real (y))When I can get a real one (or casting) I'll get that on.

The thrusters aren't completely painted yet either. I have to add the black details around the center.

I have to add a bit more weathering to the rocket and some other spots and I think I'll be good to go! Thanks to MOW Studios for an awesome prop!!

Edit:forgot to mention the decal! Not sure how I want to handle this one. I may hit up Lucksy for a decal or I may try to make something more thre dimensional. I remember seeing a thread here that discussed that. When I find it I'll make a decision.

Critiques? Comments? Thanks!

Yeh, I did mention those details and the clone blaster haha...i just found one of those i had made earlier today looking good u need to add some dark grey smudges to the rocket i think

This is just a comparison photo of my very first scratchbuilt JP painted (the first time) with the new one. I think I've gotten a little better no? (y)

Yes the smudges that cloud up the silver scraped area right?

That little Hasbro blaster really looks good!(y)

I took my MOW resin beacon and cut off the top with a hacksaw. I used a mitre box so the cut was square. Then I used a combination of a drill bit and a Dremel sanding bit to bore it out.

I used various sized Dremel sanding bits to hollow out the cap and the vents.

Right now I reconnected them with some washers just to keep them together. I think I may use rare earth magnets with holes in the middle to put them back together and still take it apart when I get a light kit.

Pay no attention to the color right now because it needs to be repainted after this mod.

This is another little mod I came up with. I tried making a placeholder for the dental file using the tip of a Hasbro clonetrooper blaster (thanks F4R!) but I wasn;t really happy with the way it looked next to the other JP parts... especially when I get a Mojo stabilizer.

This was made bt taking the piece of metal and hooking it into my Dremel and letting it spin over a hacksaw blade to get the top and bottom groove and then over various grits of sandpaper to make the curved top.

I used these "things" don't know what to call them from old computer cable plugs (I save bits I think look interesting) to fabricate a dental file until I get a real one, or a casting of a real one.

These two other ones are just experiments to see if I could make something close.

What's missing is the ridges along the side.

Thank you!... its getting there! Since I have to rework my clone forearms, thighs and torso I'm making sure I have at least one suit to troop in this Fall!
