this has sort of faded in light of the wiki. i'm pretty sure anyone can edit wiki pages now, so someone could put the pepakura templates up there.

Im new to this prop making also, so i started out with cardboard just to get the feel of making out of sintra or foam core.

I made a set out of PVC pipe. Cut it to the length you need. Then cut down on one end and heat it up in the oven at 400 degrees. DON'T WALK AWAY!!!!!! In about a minute or so, the plastic will be soft enough to flatten out. Use two cookie sheets and a thick pair of gloves. Draw your temp and cut. Use a jig saw to cut and a dremmel to sand. My only thought is it feels a little thick so I used a belt sander to thin it out. I need a new camera so I do not have any good pix yet. I'll post some this weekend If I get the chance.

3mm is the most commonly used, but you can also use 6mm for more thickness and durability.

once you have done that you can try trash can plastic and then metal

This kind of goes along with my question. I assume 3mm would be good for Chest, cod, back, etc, but I do remember him saying his designs for the gauntlets are layed out for 1mm sintra (foamex)

My question is this, might sound dumb, but I want to make sure. I printed out the test page for the chest, belly, etc and had to adjust the output on the printer I was using but I got it to where the scales were exact in real measurements. Can I assume that now I can print out that particular set of templates with the scaling and be right on?
