Accurate Resin Gauntlet Missile Interest Thread 9/06/03 PICS

I'd be VERY interested. I'd love to have an Aluminum Missile, But this seem alot more affordable. especially since I plan on doing an ESB, ROTJ and Jango. As long as it's accurate, and yours looks AWESOME, I don't really care what it's made out of.
My brother is still working on HIS blueprints for the missile but these will probably become wall art for me.
So, I'm definatly interested!
Thanks for the thread! I was hoping you two would do this!

Any chance of having the mold dusted with aluminum powder prior to casting? I have seen this done on other resin pieces and the result is a nice metallic finish. An added benefit is that it also acts as a mold release.

We've already asked the caster about metal powder's and he advised against it actually. The caster said he uses the powder's, but for this piece not to do it. I don't remember what his reasoning was behind it exactly. It wasn't a price thing either. I can contact him to see what his reasoning was if need be. Thanks for the suggestion though. Mark

Edited for spelling..

Flip that missle over so that everyone can see what the bottom of one is supposed to look like. ;)

Oh yeah, I've seen this beauty, but it is apparent that not everyone is clear what the bottom half actually looks like. ;)

They should do their homework and stare at the pictures under a microscope. It's worked for me :wacko

I'm glad I make glasses for a living, I need them now after staring at pics of the rocket myself. This was version #3, I have 2 other versions that are OK, but this last one was the MOST accurate of the 3. Boba Phett worked long and hard to get this as visually accurate as possible to the original movie gauntlet rocket, and I only wanted the BEST to have a machine version made. Once this was machined we decided to take the master and have affordable replicas made to make it available to the Dented Helmet because right now the machined rocket sits in a box in my office and isn't being used. Now EVERYONE can have their very own movie sized gauntlet rocket :D

I can't wait ! Hopefully more people become interested.
I'm sure they will once they see these new pics.
The only thing wrong with this missile is that I don't have mine Yet :) :( :).
You guys did a Hell of a Job on it!
Thanks,

I'm in for one. Hopefully the studs will match up to the holes I already drilled into my gauntlet.

Wow! Put me down for one of those - how long til they're ready for mass-production? (pleasesaybeforeDragonCon, pleasesaybeforeDragonCon, pleasesaybeforeDragonCon...)

For anybody that wants them for Dragon Con let me know and I can see what I can do. I can get a limited number of them ready before Dragon Con. -Mark
