Sorry, double post. :0
There is no love for us
Picked it up this evening and I'm really happy altho I have 2 small concerns to address before I do a run.
1. As a machinist he has put a small 0.25mm chamfer at either end of the main body (which wasn't on my CAD drawing)
2. The O/D of the thread is 0.2mm smaller than the original.
I have measured the length / diameter etc... and they are spot on other than the above issues.
I'm gonna get him to correct these and check again
A couple of pics...
Is there any way you can take some larger close up pics of the pointed end side by side with the real one?
I can't find the correct word, I'm going to create a new word for the final version so keep up the quality
I can try...
The only other thing I noticed and forgot to say in previous post was that the original has 'flat' peaks on the thread form and the prototype is pointed... therefore he's gone in slightly too far (0.2mm) and compensated in the O/D hence being 0.2mm smaller...
Woah!!! Nice work my friend!!! Very nice!
One funny(?) question. The replica dart fits on your replica stabilizer? Would be funny to take some pics of a replica sweeparm I just need your replica knee dart (and the wirst dart, of course).
I have some knee darts...
The gaunt dart in the assembly pic is of the replica...
Interested my friend, cant wait
Should have next prototype tomorrow guys...
Looking forward to seeing it.
If you can, try to take a pic similar to this one, at approximately this size so we can clearly see the tips.
I would make sure the camera focus is centered over the end tips as opposed to the entire part. That way it will be looking more straight down at the part we want to see rather than at an angle like in the following pic.
Not asking for much are you?? LOL!
No not really.
Just one good pic as described so that we can make a solid comparison.
True enough, but I'm sure Gav is capable without the direction. No offence.
Believe me, I am very much hoping that is the case.
I want to see these turn out as perfect as possible.
That's fair enough to have the high expectations, all I'm saying is I don't think there's a need to jump in and tell him how to take a comparison shot! Just wait until the revised darts are ready and for Gav to post the new pics. If the angle is off slightly then ask if he can take another.
Be patient and have faith.
Oh quit being so sensitive/defensive.
It's better to ask before hand than after the fact.
We are all on the same team with the same goal, making sure these are perfect.
BTW, if you read earlier posts, I did ask for specific shots and the ones he took weren't very helpful for comparing. I hoped that this time being more specific about what we need to see would be helpful to him, and us.
Defensive? When was I defensive? LOL!
Gino is usually too critic, but trust me, that's good for all of us
ok.. ok... Can we stop the bickering please guys?
Skip - Cheers buddy, got my back and I know what you mean.
Gino - If I take some 'close' up shots and it's still not clear then I can count on you to ask for another.
Back on topic please? I *fingers crossed* will pick the new one today and new pics taken!
True, critisism is good when constructive, but that wasn't what I was referring to. Nevermind.
Sorry for the slight hijack gav, looking forward to seeing the MkII prototypes.
