$450 Supreme Rubies Boba Fett Costume?

That's the right decision. Don't underestimate your own painting skills. I ended up painting my armor and bucket myself and I'm happy with how it turned out.
I've never done anything like that before.
There are a ton of step by step tutorials here to help.
You hit a bit of a TDH nerve with Rubies as I'm sure you can tell. I think everyone here had your best interest in mind when they tried to steer you away.
You dont have to spend a ton of money to build a solid Boba (but it helps )

Yea, I'm going to just piece my Fett together. :) I'll go to most expensive parts to least expensive, like from helmet, to chest, to jetpack, etc. I'm glad you think I made the right choice.

Man I have no idea how you could take that as rude. I was in no way rude, inconsiderate, harsh or snarky............

Feel free to take a look back over my many many years and my 2K plus posts and ask people around the forums. You came to the forum for advice. I offered what you asked for.

If you would rather me not assist you in future then I will be happy to keep out of your threads. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I bought a animefan last year (very economical) and did the paint up myself with rattle cans. I think it came out fantastic. Would it meet 501st standards for approval? Maybe., maybe not. It's close but it was the first time I had ever done the liquid masking technique.

Plain and simple, a good Fett (like a good Vader) will take time and money. I'm glad you bailed on the rubies. The best houses always start off with a good foundation.

Just adding my thoughts here..... I did buy and upgrade the Rubies costume. I'm actually really pleased with the way mine turned out. As everyone says here though the construction is awful and I've done a lot of work upgrading it and replacing bits.... Yes in an ideal world it would be better to have all the bits up front and complete a great costume but if your impatient like me and loved working on an ongoing project... If you can get it cheap enough ( I paid about £230) then it's a bit of fun..... It'll never be 100% screen accurate but you can still get a great costume with work and grabbing bargains from the cargo hold.
