30 days to build a jet pack - need help from the pros

I've got about 30 days to build a jetpack. But before I do, I have a few questions.

1. I have WoF's templates but I didn't see anything on them for the piano keys around the top. What's a good way to handle that?

2. I've seen in pictures that after the intial build is complete, the edges are finished with plaster or bondo or something. What is that "something" ?

Appriciate the help!

I'd probably just use little blocks of scrap plastic sized and shaped appropriately.

That all depends on the builder, and what you build it out of. I'd use bondo myself. Cheap and readily available.

Here's the link to my thread. Maybe this will help. If you read it through you can see how I made mine. One thing right off the bat I can suggest now is this: The large center tube in the muddle of the pack is most likely a 3" tube all the way. I used a 4" PVC pipe for the lower section (up to the "teeth" and then inserted a 3" PVC to be the base of the rocket. Ayway... let me know if you have any specific questions.

I used flexible strips of plastic to make the "teeth" I eyed up the size and cut at an angle. Because the plastic I had available and the width of my jetpack was not even I used more than what's included in the WOF templates.

I think this can definitely done in 30 days... if that's all your working on at the moment! Good luck!

Thanks for the input and the link. I've been using the search to find threads on it and they've been most helpfull. I've got a few pieces cut out and started on. A friend I work with it turning the missle tip out on a lathe. I'm hoping to get a bit done over the weekend so hopefully come monday I'll have a few pics. By the way, its the Holiday Fett I'm doing. Thanks again guys!
