HI all, this is my 1st post after completing my 1st piece of armour. I made it from a scrap of aluminium that I "borrowed" from work. Just wondered what people think.

Looks pretty cool! I'm working on trash can armor right now, but I used a metal For Sale sign on a light saber, looks like similar material. How thick is it?

Hi Funkhead,
The aluminium on this shoulder piece is about 1.5mm thick, I grabbed a few offcuts from work and some pieces are thicker than others. The thin stuff is alot easyier to shape than bits just 1mm thicker.

What I love about metal armour is that the battle damage can look so much more real.

Sorry, not much of an expert. I just used tin snips to cut it, then a small file to dull out the edges so I wouldn't cut myself. The sign I used was only about 1/2 mm thick. I had to be careful bending corners into it, or it would snap.
