10 Webley Kits - Official Commitment List

Just got my kit in the mail today....along with the sling for it so my day got off to an awesome start. I got a seconds kit and all I can say is if this is seconds I can't imagine how good the firsts kits were. All I can say is thank you very much Stormrider for putting me on the list and making this kit (y) I'll definitely be looking forward to any future items you decide to make. Hopefully I'll have it assembled and pic worthy soon.

Thank you again.

I feel the same way. The seconds need little work. I'm hoping to work on mine next week as my job has got me busy right now. Your work is great and I hope we can get greebies but understand about getting things right. I'm that way also. Good luck on everything. I have my fingers crossed!

I have the rings from Shabad now, they were here when I got home. I have to favricate a way to mold them now:)

So I can mak them all one workable unit.

Thanks shabad, ill take care of them and get them back to you.

Im going to finish the mounts tomorrow night, and get the mounts, scope and rings in the mold.

The last piece, the plug ends, never reached me from Art Andrews.

Im hoping that they turn up somewhere, but its been almost 3 weeks and it looks bleak.

Ill make some copies of the non acurate ones and people can replace them when they can I suppose.

I also redid molds for grips, barrell lock, barrell, and trigger, working on a couple more.

The new molds are full squish molds, which means there wont be any sanding or mis-mating of parts on the next run.

Lots more work for me, but leaves a full 360 degree part with little or no finish blemishes.

More as I get to the final piece of the job done.

Glad everyones happy.

On a good note, looks like theres no problem getting them to canada, ehh? :)

No problem at all, eh. All I have to say is that kit is very sexy man and thank you again. I can't wait to assemble it and get some greeblies put on it but even as she is as a straight webley kit it is amazing. My hat...no wait my is off to you Storm (y)

Ok, i did some work today on the mounts, put some more pieces in rubber etc.

Esho's karma drawing gun is going to take a bit, because im going to redo the small part molds before I can pull more. The barrell mold is about done.

It shouldnt have any wierd texturing on the barrell anymore. Barely noticable before, should be gone now.

I am working on the greeble kits. I should have them all done and in rubber by the weekend. Im doing a hybrid on the mounts. I personally think the accepted shape is all wrong, and I think that everyone makes them too narrow at the top, and leave some details out. Im going to not do them the way I think they actually are, but im going to fix the thickness and height a bit.

Ill just customize the set I use on my gun.

Im just getting over being sick. I havent done much for a week.

If theres anyone that is on the list, that still wants a gun, post here, it will be the first of the new orders at the old price. The new guns will be going up a bit to cover the extended time and changes ive made to them.

The plug ends never arrived. I really cant say why. The acurate greebles arent going to happen unless someone can loan me one, or make me a mold of one. I dont know whether they are MIA in the mail, returned to sender, or what, all I know is they never arrived to me, and no one seems to worried about them but me:/

That said, ill put together a good greeble kit for the guns, but its not going to be the end all be all acurate kit I had hoped for.

Thanks
mason

Hey MM!

Hope your feeling better mate?!?!

Any chance Ireland shipping would happen - no worries if not but Im a fan of the work you do... *wink*

Dave

Yah Dave, Ill ship you one.

Ill pull you one this weekend and get it out early next week.

Its worth the risk to try to get one to you brother.

Before you stop making these and retire the project, can I get a spare webley in case I drop mine or break it. Thanks Mike.

Dave

Yah. i think the new mold will be good for 20 pulls. I have no where near that many orders.

If you think the old molds were impressive, the new molds shoudl again push the limits:)

The new barrel mold is sweet. Im redoing all of the pieces to be squish molds, meaning they wont have any non-finished sides.

The barrell though, is a masterpiece:)

Ill be pulling some guns tomorrow, as I work on the mounts etc. My mounts are going to be done.

Can anyoen confirm that the back of the molex connector used on the real gun is solid? As in, the molex on the real gun are casts? Or filled?

Couple things. 1: I deleted all my pm's I wasnt paying attention:) So if your expectinga response from me, youll probably want to send it again.

2. I received the proper plug ends from Art, they are ready for rubber, so it looks like the greeble kits will be moving sooner rather than later.

The mounts are close, the scope is in the first half of rubber, the rings must have had some mineral oil on them, because the silicone didnt cure, im cleaning those up and getting them back in tin based rubber this time.

Should have some pics by weeks end.

The oils not your fault. I should have known better. I just didnt have any tin and though, its metal, ill use platinum! but you snooze, you loose:)

The scopes are good and bad. I totally dissagree with a lot of the 'accepted' arguments about the mounts.

Mostly the following:

1. I think the mounts front and back, have two different angles, totally. The molex connectors arent parrallell.

2. I think the front mount, has another angle besides angled left side and flat top. I think theres at least a third angle in there.

3. I dont think they are found parts. I think they are partially manufactured.

4. The rear and the front are different pieces all together.

5. I think the accepted height is too low on alot of the mounts. There looks to be more than a barrell width between the barrell and the scope.

Outside of these, i feel like the rear is actually a band clamp made up to look like the front, which was some sort of plastic stand off, on a spring clamp. Im also trying to determine if the molex on the real gun, are filled copies, or real molex.

That being said, i have to fill and sand the pair I made, and put them in rubber.

Its all planned this week. I just got side tracked with making copies of arts acurate greebles he sent and making copies of shabads scope rings.

I pulled pulls from the new molds today. Thes two minor pieces I need to remold, and then I can get these running.

The greeble kits should be ready to go early next week. Ill be sending arts plugs back hopefully monday. So anyone thats getting one of those, be sure to thank Art Andrews.

The only thing youll need for my greeble kit to be complete, is a piece of pipe, dowell or tube for the center of the scope. I decided it was pointless to make a mold of that, because its just a piece of pipe.

Ohh the rings from shabad are in the rubber. Again:)

PS: Im shipping a first quality new set pull (all but barrel) to escho34 for the karma drawing. So he will hopefully be able to enlighten everyone on how it looks.
