Awesome read! I just recently obtained a helmet cast with the same characteristics. I might have to give this a prepro 2 paint job in honor of this info!

What? Were these guys the keystone cops of mold-making? Good god.

      Thanks for sharing, Art.

Always had a fondness for the prepro 2. After all, it was our first peak at the character to come.

I'm sure it was more of a "We need to get this done quick!" kind of situation.
From my time spent over at Ken Tarallo's other board, I can't see him being that sloppy a craftsman. There had to have been some time pressures involved.

That said, I also love all these BTS tidbits though I admit sometimes the complexities of it all sends my head spinning.

Just as a clarification, based on our talks with Ken, it was Steve Patino who did the actual molding. Ken is the one who pulled the Ultracal plug from the mold that Steve made, giving the plug its signature gouge in the back.

Oh ok, that makes sense and sorry if I missed that info in the article. I guess he had to do what he could to get it out.

I was also just thinking, does this mean that the old "Fett-Family-Tree" diagram will get a slight makeover now to fit this in? I can't remember if it was included before or not.

Yes, it does need an update. I'll try to work on that this week!
